Days 0–14 & beyond
Hertfordshire's newborn days pass with extraordinary speed. The first two weeks are a particular kind of wonder — and also the optimal window for newborn photography, when babies sleep deeply, curl naturally, and the raw tenderness of the earliest days can be preserved.
I offer documentary-style, lifestyle newborn sessions that are calm, unhurried, and unposed — working around feeds and settlings, capturing your family as you actually are in those first days.

No props, no posing
Lifestyle newborn photography relies on natural light and real moments — no beanbags, no wicker baskets, no forced poses. The result is honest and timeless.
Baby-led pace
Sessions follow baby's rhythm — feeds, nappy changes, and settling time are built in. There is no rush and no frustration if plans change.
The whole family
Parents, siblings, and even grandparents can all be part of the session — the full picture of your family on one of the most significant days of your lives.
Ready within a week
Your edited gallery is delivered within 7 days — while the memories are still vivid and the grandparents are still asking for photographs.
Coverage
St Albans
Hertfordshire's most photogenic cathedral city — beautiful for outdoor family portraits alongside Verulamium Park and the abbey grounds.
Harpenden
Leafy commuter town with excellent green space including the Common — a natural setting suited to lifestyle newborn and early family portraits.
Hertford & Ware
The county town of Hertfordshire with riverside walks, riverside meadows, and the tranquil Hertford Castle grounds.
Hitchin & North Herts
Market town with flower meadows and green spaces — and easy access to the Chiltern fringes for wider landscape portraits.
Your Home
Home lifestyle sessions are often the most natural for newborns — I travel across all Hertfordshire postcodes to bring the studio to you.
The ideal window for newborn photography is the first 5–14 days of life, when babies sleep deeply and pose naturally. I recommend booking during pregnancy — from around 30 weeks — to secure a date close to your due date. I'll confirm the exact session once baby arrives.
Home lifestyle sessions typically run 3–4 hours — allowing time for feeds, settling between setups, and capturing all the different elements including family portraits. Full sessions are intentionally unhurried.
Yes. I travel to St Albans, Harpenden, Hertford, Hitchin, Stevenage, Watford, Bishops Stortford, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, and all surrounding areas. Travel within 30 miles of Cambridge is included; there's a small mileage supplement for locations further afield.
Siblings and pets are absolutely welcome — they often make for the most memorable images. I'll capture them interacting naturally with baby during the session.
Soft, natural, and timeless — preserving the warmth and delicacy of the newborn days without heavy filters or artificial poses. I edit towards clean skin tones, gentle light, and documentary authenticity.
