Newcastle upon Tyne has some of the finest Victorian and Edwardian domestic streets in Northern England. The bay-windowed terraces of Jesmond and Heaton, the wide Edwardian avenues of Gosforth, the more substantial houses of Ponteland — all share that particular North East light quality: clear, cool on winter mornings, surprisingly warm in summer, and consistently gentle enough to photograph newborns beautifully without any artificial lighting at all.
I come to your home within two weeks of your baby's birth. Two to three quiet hours, natural light, no equipment beyond my camera. The feeds, the sleeps, the way you hold your baby, the way the light falls — documented honestly, in the place where your family's story is actually happening.

When should I book a newborn session in Newcastle?+
Book during pregnancy to reserve a date in your due-date window. Lifestyle newborn sessions work best in the first 5–14 days when babies settle deeply and sleep naturally during the session. I hold a provisional date and confirm when your baby arrives.
Do you travel to Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, Hexham, and Morpeth?+
Yes — I cover Newcastle and a wide part of the North East including Gateshead, Durham, Sunderland, Hexham, Morpeth, and into Northumberland. Travel within 25 miles of Newcastle city centre is included in the session fee.
What makes Newcastle homes good for newborn photography?+
Newcastle has exceptional Victorian and Edwardian domestic architecture. The wide-fronted terraces of Jesmond and Heaton have deep bay windows and high ceilings that produce lovely soft directional light. The handsome Edwardian streets of Gosforth have very generous proportions. Further out, the Ponteland and Darras Hall area has spacious family homes, and into Northumberland the stone farmhouses have extraordinary light quality on bright northern days.
Are siblings and family portraits part of the session?+
Yes, always. Sibling portraits — meeting the baby, helping to hold them, a quiet moment together — are among the most treasured images from any newborn session. They are always included without any additional charge.
How are the images delivered?+
Via private online gallery within 5–14 days. High-resolution print files and web-sized files are both included. You can download, share, and print direct from the gallery.
