When should I book a newborn session in Winchester?+
Book at 28–32 weeks of pregnancy — this is ideal for securing a slot in the first two weeks after birth when newborns look and sleep most deeply. Winchester has a strong young-family population and availability fills quickly, particularly September through January when many families are booking autumn and winter sessions.
Do Winchester homes photograph well for lifestyle newborn sessions?+
Winchester has some of the finest domestic architecture in Hampshire. Georgian townhouses near the cathedral and College Street have elegant rooms with large windows and beautiful natural light. Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Hyde and Stanmore have bay windows that window-light a whole room beautifully. Even smaller modern properties have workable light — I find the best window in your home when I arrive.
How far around Winchester do you travel for newborn sessions?+
I cover Winchester and the wider Hampshire area: Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, Romsey, Alresford, Bishops Waltham, Stockbridge, Andover, Basingstoke, and the Itchen and Test valleys. I also cover Southampton and the New Forest fringe. Travel within 25 miles of Winchester is included.
What if my baby is premature or has NICU experience — can we still do a newborn session?+
Absolutely — and sometimes these sessions are even more meaningful for families who've had a longer or more complex journey to this point. I'm happy to discuss timing that works for you, whether that's adjusted age or whenever your baby is ready to be at home and settled. There's no fixed rule — we plan around you.
