Ely & Cambridgeshire
Relaxed outdoor family sessions near Ely — cathedral grounds, riverside meadows, and open Fenland countryside.
Family Photography Near Ely
Ely and the surrounding Cambridgeshire countryside offer genuinely beautiful settings for family photography — from the dramatic grandeur of the cathedral to the wild openness of Wicken Fen and the broad skies of the Fens at golden hour.
I come to you — whether that's the riverside near your home, the cathedral grounds, or one of the nature reserves just outside the city. Family sessions are relaxed, child-led, and genuinely enjoyable — the photographs reflect how your family actually feels together, not a posed version of it.

Yes — I regularly photograph families across Cambridgeshire including Ely and the surrounding villages. There's no travel supplement for locations within 30 miles of Cambridge, which includes all of the Ely area.
It depends on the look you want. For a dramatic, distinctive backdrop — Ely Cathedral grounds. For a more natural, relaxed feel — the riverside meadows or Wicken Fen. For big open skies and a Fenland landscape — the countryside east of Ely at golden hour.
Absolutely — multi-generational family sessions including grandparents are my favourite. We'll find a location with comfortable access and plan a session length that suits everyone.
Photography inside the cathedral requires prior permission from the cathedral administration. Interior photography sessions are possible but need to be arranged in advance. I can advise on the process when you enquire.
We have two options: reschedule to a backup date (I always recommend booking a weather-flexible date), or proceed — overcast and light-rain conditions produce beautifully soft, flattering light for family portraits. We decide together based on the forecast.
