The first days at home with a new baby are among the most private and tender of any family's life — the particular light of those mornings, the smallness of your baby in the first arms that hold them, the quiet exhausted beauty of new parents. These are the images that families return to most often in the years ahead, and the ones that matter most when children are grown.
I photograph newborn sessions in Huntingdon and across Cambridgeshire in a gentle, natural style — home visits using your own window light, following your baby's pace entirely, capturing the real texture of those first extraordinary days rather than posed studio shots.

My Approach
Newborn sessions follow your baby's lead entirely. We pause for feeds, nappy changes, cuddles and settling. A 2–3 hour session typically yields 20–30 beautiful images without any rushing.
Home sessions in Huntingdon use natural window light in your own rooms. There is no travel for an exhausted new family — I come to you. Your home, your things, your actual first days.
My newborn photography is warm and natural — a blend of documentary moments (feeds, hands, tiny details) and gently posed portraits. No extreme posing or artificial props unless specifically requested.
Brothers and sisters are an important part of the story of a new baby. I include sibling time in all newborn sessions — the meeting moments are often among the most important photographs a family ever takes.
Newborns photograph most peacefully within the first 14 days — ideally 5–12 days old. Booking during pregnancy is recommended to secure the date and plan the timing around your due date.
I serve Huntingdon, Godmanchester, St Ives, Ramsey, St Neots and all of the surrounding Cambridgeshire area. Many Huntingdon families are within 30 minutes of my Cambridge-area studio.
FAQ
I recommend booking during your second trimester — around 20–25 weeks — to secure a date near your due date. Newborn sessions are scheduled tentatively around the due date and confirmed once your baby arrives. My in-home visit can be arranged within days of the birth for local families.
Yes — home sessions work beautifully in Huntingdon and the surrounding area. I assess the light in your main living spaces and work with what is available — most homes have at least one room with good natural window light. There is no need for a special space or cleared room.
Keep the house at a comfortable temperature (your baby needs warmth), have an outfit or two you love nearby, and plan a normal feed before the session begins. I bring everything else. If possible, position furniture so north or east-facing windows have clear space around them.
Yes — and with particular care. Premature baby sessions are timed according to corrected age rather than birth date and adapted entirely to the baby's medical situation. Please discuss this at enquiry so we can plan the most appropriate session.
Yes — I serve all of Cambridgeshire from my Cambridge-area base. Huntingdon, St Ives, Ramsey, St Neots, Ely, Peterborough and the rest of the county are all within my regular coverage area.
